Mounting of framed art collection

Task: Mounting six works of art by Henri Matisse in white frames in a Geneva, IL living room. This handyman task included maintaining equal vertical and horizontal spacing between the pieces of art — and ensuring that all of the pieces were level before leaving the job site.

Given the relatively light weight of the art and frames, and the fact that steel sawtooth ring hangers were already on the back of each picture, simple hardware nails designed for hanging pictures were the mounting fastener of choice. The use of heavy-duty anchors (such as mushroom-head toggle-bolts) was not necessary — eliminating the need for wall and hole patching in the future.
